alloy

Low Alloy Steel is generally defined as having 2% to 10% total alloy content, comprising of one of more of the following elements: Chromium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Nickel. The primary function of these elements is to increase the hardenability in order to optimize the mechanical properties and toughness after heat treatment.

These alloys can be stocked in the As-rolled, Annealed, Normalized, or Quench and Tempered heat treat conditions.
