What is API 5CT Steel?

API 5CT is the specification issued by the American Petroleum Institute for seamless and welded steel pipe, which is used as casing and tubing in oil and gas wells, and is generally referred to as OCTG, or oil country tubular goods. Pipe made to this specification undergoes strict chemical composition, mechanical property, and dimensional testing to ensure it can withstand downhole pressures, loads, and corrosive conditions. The various grades are distinguished primarily by yield strength, and in some cases, by resistance to sulfide stress cracking for sour service applications.

API Grades We Supply

J55/K55

  • Standard strength casing and tubing grade, widely used and cost-effective for shallow to moderately deep wells.

N80

  • Higher strength than J55, suited for intermediate depth casing and tubing applications.

R95
